John I have always admire the abundance of birds you have, and the daily postings you make on here. Taking onboard Andy P comment on my last post crop/position etc, I'm not sure if this works, still allowing for editorial copy?
Anyway, my offering of the Common Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus).

Lovely image, I like the branch/background and the crop they all work well together.

I'm not quite sure about this one Steve, I suppose it's the head on pose of the Blue Tit and the OOF foliage thats not working for me, there is also quite a lot of noise / grain running throughout the image.
On a plus side you have captured some great detail on the Blue Tit and I quite like the perch too.
Hi Andy, I left the OOF foliage in purely on the basis that I felt the image would otherwise be another "Bird on a stick' and it had some merit. The original TIFF looks OK, but perhaps(?) in converting from RGB to sRGB the file looked/when 'flat' so I added a bit more in the Sat which might have, in turn, brought out a bit more 'noise' in the BG Light was fading, but NO excuse.

Steve
Small nits covered, I think the biggest problem is not yours but the birds !
Blue tits for some reason always seem to look wierd head on ! I don't know why it is but they never look right.
Cheers

Hi Steve
I like this image and in particular the bird looking slightly downward and into the space in the frame and the blue tit looks beautifully sharp. My only nit is the branch going out of the frame on the RHS but otherwise this is a lovely portrait.
Good stuff

Sorry Steve
Should have said they never look right "to me."

A difficult one Steve, I like the idea, Like John I am never fond of these birds looking head on, I think if the foliage stays in it should be more defined, I would also like the perch to be more covered in Lichen (choice of perch can make or break an image).. As said there is great detail in the bird and the exposure seems to be spot on.

A tricky composition, but I actually quite like the way it is looking down into the frame. The only nit for me is the positioning of the head but then you can't always have them pose as you want them to. Very nice indeed Steve.

Small nit not already mentioned is the perch touching the right of the frame - tends to draw the eye out of the picture - a slightly wider crop or more to the right might fix this.
