On a summertime morning along Deadman's Creek with Reno, in the Sonora Pass country. This was a 4-second exposure. I would have liked a little less water blur, but...I got what I got.
I'm on the fence with this one, but the funny thing is, I don't know why. What do you all think of it?
Hey Preston,
Yeah, I would like a little leas blur, especially in the right most areas of the water. I like it. It is technically very good, with great detail, and crispness. A nice scene overall. Not sure why you're on the fence about it. All I can say is, it's a nice shot, not a blow my socks off kind of shot. Maybe that's what you are feeling about it???

Preston,
this is excellent! I really like how the water is framed top and bottom by the rock (I won't pretend to know what kind or granite/rock it is... ) The details and sharpness are superb. Yeah, I might have preferred a shorter exposure, but there is still form in the water and the patterns on the right keep the eye in the frame, so in the end the water works pretty well for me.
Makes me look forward to next summer.

I like it. That little bit of green is a nice touch.
Well named, Preston. The detail and the composition all looks good to me. As with many images we post, I do not think we get the same impact as we do from a nice print. I'm sure this will make a very nice print.
Thanks for your comments, everyone. I had to stop down to f45 even with swings and lens tilt to get everything in focus. That's what led to the slow shutter speed, and thus, blurred water. . I may boost the contrast in the foreground rock just a tad and then make a proof print to see whaz up
