Ice Sculptures
I went out yesterday to shoot some ice images. I didn't have great light and thus no pretty colors to play with, so I set my mind to capturing form instead. I was mad at myself because I left my diopters at home that would allow me to get my long lens to focus closer. I want to look into getting a set of extension tubes to see if I like them any better than diopters. I don't have a lot of experience playing around in black and white, but since these are abstract images maybe they work. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Michael

Cool series. I like #4 the best.

The first two kinda look like high altitdue aerial shots of islands/coastlines. All four have a nice tonality to them. Well done. :toast:

Great abstract art! #3 looks fantastic square cropped; reminds me of a classic 6x6.

Really cool abstracts that just glow!

Fantastic. The delicate nature of those first two is very interesting. I also saw the "coastline" similarity immediately.

I like the abstract nature of the first two the best.

The figure in the lower right of image 1 could be of Kokapelli

Excellent work!
Great choice with b&w here. It works extremely well. You did a real fine job in 'developing' them!

Really nice abstract series. The strong contrast gives them a signature all their own.

Great collection of b&w ice shots. I love these types of shots.

Nice to see you here Michael! I like this a lot. With the temps where they have been, I am guessing that you had no problem finding ice.

I like the first two, then #4, then #3 as my order of preference.
