Great crested grebe
Having to rely on the archives a bit at the moment as I'm chained to my desk and hating it. A grebe displaying territorial aggression for your consideration, c&c's welcome as always

A particularly angry and 'explosive' bird, a well captured moment with really great detail. I might take a very little amount off of the RHS just to take it a tad further away from centre but minor and take out the 'white' looking water droplet on the LHS.. Both very minor points for what is essentially a very nice image and very well executed. Like it a lot.

I might go a little further than Brett and take a little off the top as well, but these are minor points and you have captured an action that was no doubt over in a flash very well indeed.

I've lost count the number of times I've tried for this and failed.

I think I'd go with both the suggestions re cropping above Andy - but as is, it's a cracker and I'm rather envious :wavey: :wavey:

Nicely timed, reminds me a bit of Concorde coming down the runway. Great light and colour too, a bit more room on the left would be the icing. :toast:

Like the action and the water droplets - catches the moment well :toast:

Captured some great action Andy. The bird being what it is has such a small head in comparison to the rest of the body and perhaps because of that a slightly sideways on shot may have worked better. Having said that it still a fine image and, like everything on here no doubt would look even better bigger.

great action shot little to central for me but that is easy sorted

I've looked at this a few times and I think I agree with MG about the head being slightly lost in the centre of the body .I knew there was something but couldn't quite get it.
Not much you can do about it though.
Good action.

the low POV works very well here, a really nice image. I would also like a little off the right but great otherwise.

Great action shot with a very nice low point of view. I agree about cropping a little off the right.

Terminator grebe or what!? Look at the 'fire' in those eyes.

All been said really but I'd disagree with the right-hand side crop - you'd lose the water spray. Great low PoV and action.

Cheers,
Chris
