Turnstone - (Arenaria interpres)
After a deluge of rain, the sun broke on the shingle where the Turnstones came to feed. Not sure about the slight leg showing?

Good, low angle on this Steve. It would be good to have the bird looking a little more towards you, but that is not always possible. I would probably not have noticed the leg if you hadn't mentioned it, but on balance I think I would leave it as is.

Hi Steve
Talk about being you own harshest critic! This is a lovely image, beautiful colors and feather detail but for me its the different tones of the shingle that really make it. Fab

'It would be good to have the bird looking a little more towards you' - in an ideal world I guess David, LOL

'Talk about being you own harshest critic' - perhaps I have spent too much time with a certain person Andy, maybe I should apply it more to my processing

cheers

Very nice Steve, lovely colours. The leg doesn't detract in my view. Perhaps the smallest area of in-focus shingle might have given the bird a bit more grounding but I can see it wouldn't have been easy at that angle. I give you a call when my feet touch the ground again.

A lovely composition, the colours are stunning.

Works really well for me Steve. The dof is great, and although you don't have the head turn, the bird has been isolated beautifully. Like it very much.

Hi Steve,

Very nice image, great complimentary colours in the shingle matching the Turnstone. Only one nit, the cloning(?) of the shingle to the left of the bird is fairly obvious as there are three horizontal bands with exactly the same pattern, should be easy to sort though.

Cheers,

Lewis.

Curious Lewis, as there has been NO cloning on the file at all. Simple, sat, sharpen, crop, so I am puzzled.

Will take a look later :wavey:

Sorry about that Steve, I wasn't trying to offend, must be a bit of an illusion, or more likely my eyes!

Cheers,

Lewis.

Colours are beautiful in this one Steve and the crop compliments the image very well.

Nicely composed image, with lovely colours.

Lovely feel to this image Steve. I particularly like the differential focus. Nice composition but I'd prefer a little more room for the (virtual) legs. Other that, really like it.

Cheers,
Chris

A little more room at the bottom for me to, I can see what Lewis' is saying about the repeated pattern in the stones, but well isolated and really shows the camouflage well.
