Ah-my beloved beech leaves. ! They,ve lasted two years now !
Some may find them a little overpowereing but that's just how they are. Its the back light and the house wall again that gives the effect. ( And the nice clean window where it's lovely and warm and dry inside )

Hi John
I preferred your previous coal tit image, not that I'm a neat freak but simply because the background is a bit 'in between' for me. The dappled light and gaps between the leaves make the image a little busy and intense to look at. Saying that it is still a very nice coal tit pic

I think I agree with Andy and the perch on this occasion doesn't do much for me either. I like the colour of the BG and I think something like this with a BG that is similar to your sparrow images would work very well.

Thanks both. I agree - hence my introductory comment.
With a bird as nifty as this though I tend to take what I can get !

Personally I like this background, it gives a warm, sunlit, autumnal colour to the image.

I too like the background, the perch not so much.

Lovely bird, smashing pose, and the autumn colours are fabulous. Not mad on the perch though!

I agree re: the perch, but I like the b/g colour very much. Good detail in the bird too, as I know how difficult they are to capture.

Like the bird John and all its detail but the perch just spoils it a bit for me.
I dont mind the BG and its splash of colour.
I agree about the perch, but the background is really nice.

I also like the background a lot, just one or two bright spots that might need darkening a little. I agree about taking what you can get when it comes to these. They're certainly quick.
