I took this quick digital shot from my window. As of now, I have a bit over 7 inches of snow here at home. This is very rare for Columbia this time of year.

I'm not expecting critiques on this one: I just wanted to show the snowy wiew from my window.

Please be safe during this period of inclement weather, everyone.

Pretty cool, Preston. That sure is a lot of snow.

Here in the Bay Area it is nice to see some snow on the surrounding hills.

Pretty darn nice for a grab shot.
I sincerely hope the flooding is not too severe for the poor folks down here in the So Cal area, but we sure need some real wet stuff this year to make up for the dry spells.

Preston,

Holy cow! You got some snow eh? Tomorrow, Yosemite, anyone who can, should.

This is awesome! You should post in ES&S, I think it would do well. I have the same question as Harley... 4x5? b&w? NPS, shouldn't matter - a great subject.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

Yep, we got snow--7 inches here in Columbia!

Unfortunately, I can't get my 4x5 to the window because there is a windowseat in the way. So, I just used my D70 and put the lens hood up against the window screen and handheld it. There was also a bit of breeze, so having the higher shutter speed was a boon.

I only did a little levels and curves adjustment on a tif converted from Nikon RAW.

Yeah, anyone who can go to Yosemite should go now!

Beautiful! It was raining here all day, but just cleared up for a great sunset.

This is great man, you shoulda busted out the 4x5, with a slight crop off the bottom. Love that fresh snow!

That is just too much snow for the little twigs to handle.

Funny you're getting a ton of snow and the fall color just turned down here early. Maybe it will be a good long and cold winter.

Nice view indeed! Must be great up there now that the storm has cleared out. Look forward to inevitable 4x5 images to follow.

Very nice for a "grab" shot, Preston. We were up at the house Sat-Tue, got 1.5' of snow.

Great image, Preston! Should be a lot more snow after this weekend as well.

Best regards -- Bishop

Preston,
Looks like lots more snow to come... You stay warm, but definitely get the 4x5 out, its only going to get better. BTW, really like the image. Best Regards.

Thanks for all your kind comments!

We're getting a lot of rain today 12/12, and all the snow is gone. Given the last few really dry winters, it's really nice that we're getting the rain and the big snows in the Sierra! Let's hope it keeps this going so that we'll pull out of this drought.
