The annual RMNP Shindig party (with (TM) White Elephant) will be on Saturday January 30, 2010 starting at 5PM. The party is a great place for all forum participants to meet and share their experiences, gear and prints. We encourage all members to join us. If you are a new member we encourage you to join us for this fun annual event.
As usual we will be looking for the members to bring an item (food, beverage etc) and/or donation for the pizza, Subway and sodas that we provide. Also, if you might be able to bring some fold out tables and/or chairs we can really use them since table space winds up being a real problem at these parties. You can find the event page here. On the event page I am listing the attendees and what they are planning to bring. Also, this is where you can upload images for the annual slideshow.
Also, to the community at large I have arranged for a few vendors in town to give us some great door prizes but would like to invite the community to donate door prizes that we can raffle off to the group at large. This is our community and is a great opportunity to give back to the group. If you are interested in donating a door prize (can be a product or even a service) just shoot me an email.
Please respond to this thread and let us know if you will be attending this year.
Thanks.

Posted by Jim Casteel on December 23, 2009 at 5:54 PM

Posted by Brett Deacon on December 24, 2009 at 10:07 AM
I'm excited to be attending for the first time. I'll bring a print, pizza money, and whatever else I think of between now and then. Looking forward to it!
Just want to mention - If someone from outside the Denver area would like to attend the 'shindig' party and needs a place to stay shoot me an email and we will see if we can find you a place to stay. We want to try to include as many of you as possible to enjoy the annual party.

In the first post it states...
"be on Saturday January 30, 2010 starting at 5PM. We havent set an exact time yet."
Confused. Is it at 5pm or is that just a guess and an exact time hasn't been set?

I'd love to join, but it's a bit far to drive for a party. I'll go have a beer by myself at the Auld Dubliner
Posted by Scott Bacon on January 14, 2010 at 2:15 PM
I will attend with a donation and a print.
We'll be sure to raise our glasses to you, Laurent. I have fond memories of my visit to the Auld Dubliner, the local stout I was drinking, and my long (if frequently interrupted) conversation with the bar keep about "Americans." He was busy filling pints, yet interested enough to come back time and time again to say, "So where were we?"

Got my plane ticket!! very excited to see everyone again. Planning a short day trip to Summit Co. for snow shots on Saturday morning, then perhaps RMNP on Sunday for ice bubble shots. Anyone wanna go?

If everyone doesn't mind, I'd like to bring two friends who are very interested in our community, both of them professional photographers from Estes Park: James Frank and Jared Gricoskie. We'll bring some extra cash and probably some drinks. You can check out their websites here: http://jamesfrank.com/ & http://www.ywguiding.com/.
I just heard that James can't make it so it will be just Jared and myself with cash.
Posted by Jack Garrett on January 17, 2010 at 7:08 PM
Erik,
I've met James before and he is a real nice guy...Can't wait to see him and meet Jared.
Jody,
You need to call in sick!!!!!!

anyone want me to bring some hard liquor?

I'll be there and bring some cookies and cash.
Posted by Neil Corman on January 21, 2010 at 11:52 AM
I should be there. I will bring some drink and treat.
I know for a while it was questionable if we would be able to have the event at Qube. So thanks to Qube ahead of time, and while we are always good tenants of the space during the shindig we should even be more respectful this year, especially with food and drink.
Posted by Rod Hanna on January 23, 2010 at 4:33 PM
Hope it's not too late to add my name to the list? Will bring some cash and a print also.

I really wish I could make it but will be stuck in the flatlands of The Great Prairie State of Illinois. Hope you'all have fun. Thanks. Joe.

Looks like I'll be able to attend afterall (if not too late). My first shindig! Can't wait to meet more of you. I'll bring $$ for pizza and will bring either dessert or more beverages.
Thought I'd be safe and post this in this thread too:
Hello all! Just a couple quick notes regarding the Shindig on Saturday night.
As for parking, Qube's front lot, and especially the south lot will be wide open for everyone. Please DO NOT park in the lot north of our building, next to the BARK! Doggie Daycare!! During their open hours (til 6pm I believe), they will have cars towed! Sorry about that! Also, please don't keep any valuables in your cars just as a safety precaution. We only had a problem once several years ago, and I don't want a repeat! Either leave it at home, or feel free to bring them inside with you, I have places to store stuff.
Rich and I are going to bring several large, empty coolers to hold drinks, but from past experience, those fill up FAST! If anyone has one or two they could bring, that would help! Maybe a small bag of ice too if you do bring one.
That's it for now. Really looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday!
