Dear All,
I am currently backpacking through the USA and Canada, and my travels take me to Salt Lake City tomorrow, and then north into Canada, across the Rockies to Vancouver for Christmas, and down the West Coast to Arizona by mid February.
I was wondering if anybody is photographing/traveling in these areas at these times, or knows anybody else who is, as I have become frustrated at having to travel on buses etc, which do not give me the freedom to stop when and where I like to shoot. It would be so much more fulfilling traveling with other photographers in the area.
I would also welcome and general suggestions on shooting the West during the winter time, such as where and when to shoot certain landscapes, and recommendations of travel methods.
Many thanks, and I would absolutely love it if there was someone to hook up with to shoot the West!

You might also want to post this in the Rocky Mountain and Pacific NW forums. I'm sure quite a few members from those two forums can give you a ton of information!

Being from the Midwest myself, I had the same kind of trip in mind last year. The RMNP guys were more than helpful and I'm sure will help with your delema.
Here'a a link to the posting I sent them last year. The info here is probably enough, but if you post your request for info on RMNP you'll get loads of ideas and recomendations.
