Took a few pictures recently while waiting for Redwings, no show. This was taken out the side of my hide, I had completely forgotten about it.

EOS 40D Sigma 120-400, ISO 400 @F8

Hi Joe
Thrush family birds in berry bushes are always really hard in my view. It is so hard to separate them from the background clutter. Good for sticking at it though.

Works well for me and shows just what is going on this time of year. Some Fieldfare, doves and Wood pigeon have all but stripped the berries from the holly bush outside my window..! Good detail where it counts but it's a shame you seem to have cut the tail off, maybe a landscape orientation may have helped..?

Nice 'bird in a bush' though, love the colours and male blackbirds look so handsome, great catchlight in the eye, I do think it would have suited a 'Landscape' format just as good Joe,as raised by Brett.A lovely image though either way  :wavey:

Although a common bird these are quite difficult to get good shots of, and this is certainly a good shot. Fine detail in both the bird and the setting. Very nice indeed. :toast:

Great shot. It's always nice to shoot birds in a hawthorn. So much color. You could tone down the brightness a bit. Some hot whites under and behind the bird but that's nit picking:)

Well done.

Nice one Joe the bird in a bush with berries is a classic but think of all the combinations you can get with it. Youve even got some lichen covered branches to add to the scene.
Cheers.
