Two years ago a free ranging fox squirrel had a litter of squirrels who had white tails and were much lighter than all the other fox squirrels in the area. None were seen the following spring, so it appears they did not survive the winter, or moved out of the area. At least one made the mistake of entering the river otter exhibit. Squirrels go in but don't come out! Wondering if anyone else has seen this?

Forgot to add, the squirrels were born inside the Miller Park Zoo, but were not zoo animals.

John, pretty neat capture. I've never seen that type of coloring (except on my own head, hence the loss of my ponytail)!!! Thanks for sharing

Some of the gray squirrels that frequent my area have lighter colored tails, but none this light. Actually, this squirrel looks like a combination of Fox and Gray...his head the color of the Fox and the body the color of a Gray. very odd combination???
Good capture, John.

Tony, that was my first thought, but there are no gray squirrels in this area.
