This guy was hunting insects on the floor, and kept interchanging between this post and the roadway. At one point he ran towards me, stopping about 5 metres away. I couldn’t get him in the frame with the 600mm., as he was too close. This shot was chosen because I liked the diffuse bg, and it looked much cleaner than the road.
All C&C welcome.
Nikon D300 with 600/F4. 1/100th sec. F7.1, ISO 400. EV 0. FF and HH from the window of the van.

Yes I'll go with that. Great background too.
Always one of my favourite poses -three quarter back on.- not always easy.
Plenty of space up to for writing maybe ??

Brilliant shot, great to see the detail in the feathers. I wish I could get the close...

Lovely shot Mike. Maybe a bit less saturation. But that's just my personal taste.
Nice one Mike, looks like you nailed it in the camera, reducing PP time and a cleaner file. Agree with Edwin about the saturation, as the green goes look a tight bright

I guess I may as well pack up photography now - I can't see me getting higher praise than this in the future.
