Jay today
Through the window. Terrible light, but it passes the time !
Bit of noise too but I just liked the expression.

I really like this one. Great pose. Very alert birds.

Thanks both.
MJ- Its taken thirty years of feeding but it is in the middle of an oak forest so its not that surprising . The house is surrounded by small meadows too which brings in the variety.
(I hate to think what its cost in bird food.)
But when PH gives me the 200 quid for his session it will help with the pension !!
That was a JOKE !

LoL.... I know that bird, didn't get anything usable of it during my session but see what you mean about the beak, super pose and the noise doesn't show here, Michael believe me John gets one hell of a lot just outside his window, as he says the location of his house is the reason combined with years of dedication and knowledge...

I love the picture John, but I'm not too keen on the black border.

The light may have been difficult, but you've got a great pic there. :toast:

Congrats on getting the close-up John. Nice to see a jay shot with the crest raised. Not sure about the pose but that is just personal taste not a crit.

The location sounds like a wildlife togs dream - I'm not envious at all or of your earlier bullfinch image.

Cheers,
Chris

Nice image John. I would be very happy with something like this in my garden. Even though I have put up a couple of upright logs and filled them with home made peanut cake I just seem to get blooming Starlings! I suppose it just takes time to attract other birds.

To get them like this John in your own back garden has just got to be good.
I get them but right down the bottom of my garden and breath at your peril.
As said the border is a bit strong but that is your choice. The pose and the crest all add to this image.
