Male/female American Bald Eagles near Llano, Texas on the Chanas C Ranch off Hwy 29
I had to use stacked 2x + 1.4x teleconverters as the nesting tree was quite distant. Canon 1D Mark III, 300mm f/2.8 lens.
Hope to get permission from the landowners to get closer in the weeks ahead.. First try today, around 10:00am.
F/5.6, 1/1000th, ISO 1000. Original cropped to 2884x2307, 8x10 ratio.

Great title for this one, Howard, and a great shot to go with it. Good luck with the landowner in getting permission to move a bit closer. As I'm sure you know, most folks don't have a problem, especially if you give them a print as a token of appreciation.

Excellent capture using stacked TCs. Did the 1D3 autofocus with both TCs? I've used stacked TCs with my 500 f/4, but it is all manual focus when I do.
