Okay, for those that have better luck than me, this year's Geminid Meteor Shower is supposed to be great, displaying 140 or more meteors per hour. Just my luck, it is supposed to be cloudy here Sunday night. The peak is 11:10 pm CST which is a pretty decent time.
Good luck to those of you that will have a starry night. The new moon should allow for good viewing.

Thanks for the link, Don! Dang, looks like it's going to be cloudy here Sunday night too, but Monday is forecast to be partly cloudy. Maybe we'll get lucky and the weatherman will be wrong again - wouldn't be the first time.

Hoping for clear skys Sunday night. Karla and I are trying to make plans on where to watch the stars from. I'm planning to use interval timer on our D200. Instead of long exposures consisting of minutes, the camera will be programmed to fire 30 second exposures for as long as I tell it too. Maybe for an hour. I can combine them all to make star trails or just find the frame with the best meteor. That will also keep any bright areas (noise from cities) of the night sky to a minimum.
