A couple months ago I looked out of my window and saw this sparrowhawk at the bottom of my garden.I managed to slowly open my patio doors grab a table and beanie,no time to set up tripod and quietly get sorted. The light wasn t to brill but managed to get a couple of cards full of images. It was so exciting to have the privilige to watch this although I did feel for the poor dove.I have been told it is a female but it did cause a bit of arguement elsewhere as some say it was male.I regulary see both sexes in the garden so my thoughts are it is the female although some may disagree.

I'd say it's a female judging by it size compared to the Collared it's eating, muskets are diminutive.

You'd never get away with door opening table moving and filling a couple of cards on my local spars Karen, so you are very lucky...

Very well captured Karen, she surely is a mean looking bird.

Great behaviour shot. A bit further left in frame would improve.

thanks everyone Pete I think a bit further left in the frame would make it look to central for me but thanks for the comment much appreciated

Very nice indeed Karen and a little more space on the RHS would have been good but I know what you mean about it looking a little to central so difficult call unless you have more room both sides.

Hey Karen
What a fortunate encounter and well executed. I'd be tempted to crop the a little grass from the bottom of the frame just to tighten the image slightly.
Cheers
