Straight on till morning
I posted this over in Man and Nature also, but I really wanted to share it with all of you. I took this down at the Castlewood Canyon Bridge this morning. As I pulled up in the car and shut off the lights, this scene was unfolding before me, so I chanced setting up in the middle of the road for the comp. I light painted the road with my headlamp. I would love to hear your thoughts on this one.

It was great shooting with Timothy Tongue who doesn't live very far from here. Tim, how about posting some of your shots from this morning soon?

It was also nice meeting David who we told about the forum. Hope to see you joining in the fun soon.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Definitely a great one for leading lines. I like how you captured the stars in the sky.

What Dean said. Great idea, and you pulled it off well.
Lighting looks real good. Skies look a wee bit oversaturated for my taste.

This is really, really well done, Morris. I also love the stars in the sky. That you had time to light paint the road and all that tells me there's not much traffic this time of day -- er, I mean, night!

Thanks guys.

John, you know how posting for the web sometimes increases sat and contrast, and it dit it to me here.

Todd, well, it had to be timed right. When I first set up I had to move once, and then I had a little more time before the next car. Surprising to me how relatively busy it was at this time on Saturday morning. I was expecting no one to come through till about 7 or later.

WOW, well done. I drive over this everyday I go to work. It seems like there is always traffic coming or going on that road.

Great shot Morris.

Great shot! Love the way the road leads the viewer into the image. Nice color in the clouds and the stars are nice as well.

Very nice! I know that bridge (although it's been a while since I've been there) and never thought of it being much of a photo op...I guess it is!

This reminds me of something straight out of a movie. I expect to see Thelma and Louise break over the horizon any second! Nice image!

Very nice, Morris. Like the composition and the colors.

Nice shot Morris. I like your idea on how to light the road!

Beautiful shot -- I really like the gradation of colors in the sky, and lighting the road was a great idea. I might try cloning out the reflectors on the guardrails -- it might be better, maybe not, but I find them a bit distracting.

Very nice circumstances and well captured!
