One for PS
I had the pleasure of meeting PS several times and without being soppy he has always remained dear to me, for several reasons. Much of my stuff from Slimbridge the other day was rubbish (I haven't got the gear for long range stuff really).
This one reminded me so much of so many of his paintings. Great memories
D200
Sigma 50-500
Flowerpot for a lens hood.

A lovely painterly sort of shot John and as you say, much in the style of PS. A very evocative image.

I love this John, it is like a painting, and the delicate colours are very beautiful, was worth your trip for this alone.. :toast:

Lovely shot John, with just enough clarity in the bg to give it added interest. :toast:

I'm still not enthusiastic about the border though.

Not giving you a lift again.....

That is very nice indeed and great tribute to a great man and as you say so evocative of one of his paintings, was this one of those famous occasions when the action happens, I press the button and full CF flashes away....

All the best & speak soon

Hi John
Very clean, simple, graphic composition. Perhaps if I were trying to be a pedant I would suggest that it has a slight cyan/blue cast which if corrected would warm the image slightly. But that would only be if I were a pedant and I'm not so I wont!

Hi John, interesting capture but it's not working a lot for me I'm afraid. Just personal taste but I would have liked to have seen more space all round and I to find the border a bit dominating over the subtle colours of the image itself. The bird in front seems to have a very light colouration all around it which might be through use of the dodge tool and also some areas of the sky in front of that same bird. Each to their own I guess

Kind regards,

Brett :toast:

Dont know what you mean Brett about the "Dodge " tool. Your monitor must be finding things mine isn't. Can.t really understand what you mean.
Thiis was a crap image from the start. Borders I agree, can be funny but its the bit in the middle that counts isn't it ?

Hi John, drag the image into PS and wack the Gamma over to the RHS and you'll see what I mean.. or even drag the brightness to the LHS and it's evident in the above presentation so not me going mad I assure you..

Like this one John. Just enough countryside visual in the BG and good grouping of birds.
I to find the border a little bold for my liking.
