A Watchful Eye
Not a lot done to this image apart from a ccw rotation, and crop top and bottom for presentation. I would have preferred a slight head turn from Mum, but you can't have it all.

40D, 300mm +1.4, ISO 400,f7.1, 1/1000, DPP, CS4

Head turn aside it's a very nice capture Fran, I think the pano crop works very well, nice to see mum and pup together as well.

I agree with Andy, if if you didn't get the head turned towards you it is still a lovely capture. I might be tempted to clone out that little patch of pebbles/weed at the bottom of the frame as I find it a little distracting - but that is a very minor nit.

Hey Fran
A nice family portrait. A little central for me, I'd be tempted to crop a little from the left and perhaps have included a little more of the waves and less of the sand. Comp nits aside you've done a good job
Cheers

hi Fran

Nice POV and love the light - wonder what the mum is watching (another photographer no doubt!)

The crop is good along with the composition and I like the background shorelie with the waves - nice

cheers

Thanks all for your comments folks, much appreciated, and think you are all right about the pebble though.
Andy, I shall have a play with your suggested crop.
