Otters fighting + repost
I got a great chance to get some nice stuff of these two young ones play fighting in the sea as their mum was busy catching fish for herself and them.

Simply superb interaction image Danny and it really does look like you've had some wonderful opportunities with this little family cluster. You can even see the determined whites in the eyes! Enjoying these very much.

Superb shot and capture of the interaction between the two Danny :toast:

It looks a little bit over sharpened to me and the colours dont look right and you have blown the tooth out

Alright fella
Brilliant shot as expected, it must have been an absolute dream to witness so well done for keeping calm and nailing it, the adrenaline must have been pumping. Only nit is that you took it and not me, git!

Wonderful shot - have been completely put off uploading mine after seeing this

Great stuff Danny. Great interaction and why do you always have light I'm dreaming of? I bought a new monitor and I can see very clear now. Otters look a bit oversharpened. Am I right or is my monitor too sharp?

Really nice light again. I can see the point about the sharpness, perhaps slightly overdone but the image has real impact and great colour. :toast:

Cheers Guys to be honest it looks fine on my stuff but as Andy Astbury will say my stuff is all over the place at the moment, he came down last week to help me out but just couldn't get it to work and I just can't get jpegs to look right, something has really gone wrong and I am waiting for a new machine to come, thanks anyway. Bloody computers.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE    Have you been fiddling with your profiles again

Looks vary garish and overly sharp Dan....

Other than your c**p processing (stop blaming your tools!) it's a real cracker of a shot - typical Danny, right time right place - nailed it :toast:

Processing apart this just goes to show you don't have to travel too far for stunning shots - very envious as you know how succesful I was there last time!!

Better version thats not turned into sRGB very strange really why it looks completely different as every time I turn an image into sRGB it looks completely over saturated and over the top on contrast which makes it look to sharpe.

repost looks better on my (uncalibrated) laptop Danny. It's a lovely shot, the light and background colours are fantastic. It can't have been easy to capture a moment like this.

Hello Everyone

It was Craig it was one of those moments where you know you are witnessing something that has probably not been witnesed before so close by a photographer who has his gear and the pressure is really on to nail the shot. You see so many shots of Otters eating or resting so to get one of them actually doing something different is rare. Matt this was so difficult to get because they were coming up so fast for about a second and then as soon as they came up they would go down again and come up somewhere completely different. This is by far the best picture I have ever taken and is my personal favourite thats for sure. I am a bit dissapointed that the image has come out wrong in the first place because I wanted to share it here first and I have put up much lesser pictures and got twice as many responces. Most of the comments have been from Mates in the trade like usual so thanks for the support but I am still not taking you to the site:biggrin: I am retiring from this site until Andy A sets me up with the right gear.

Second is much better Danny not sure what is going on but I would guess a bit of subterfuge from Mr. A.

Good interaction and appreciate how difficult it was....

I would hve been jumping up and down with joy at just the sight (and scared the Otters of at the same time...

I can only assume Danny that you have put in some time getting these images. Processing is another story and you will be a good one if you get it perfect everytime. Great interaction and no doubt a great moment when it happened.

I would like to see a tighter crop around the two heads for real impact. I know you've got a thing about cropping but I think you'd be surprised how far you can go. I wouldn't throw it away as is mind.

Sort of agree with a tighter crop too...although have wondered about a panoramic crop. Would be interested in a light sepia toned B&W version too. BTW I think its a really good capture. Just my thought anyway.
