I may have blown right by it, but after some research I still am at a loss. I've looked into archives and still didn't see anything ...I'm using PS 7 or 9 right now.
...is there a way to resize images from let's say, 5614 x 3744 to 1600 x 1067...for a folder of images? Nothing but 'pre-set actions' that can't be changed or added to so far. I'd love to be able to cut them down with one command...any help is GREATLY appreciated...heck, I'm willing to be a house boy for this answer:)

Seriously, if it's possible, I'd love to know, thanks again all, please enjoy the week!

Not sure with PS 7, and I assume by PS 9 you mean CS2? Try going to "File" / "Scripts" / "Image Processor" . At the top of the window is a place to select images to process. You can specify a folder. Then the next option is to choose where to put the results. Then the option to resize to any specific size you want as JPEG, PSD or TIFF. You can also run actions on the images as a part of the process if you need to. I can't remember if the "image processor" is in CS2 or not...

Thanks Keith, I'll give that a shot, I'll buy another version of cs or ps if needed, this one by one thing is killing me:(

Thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes!

You should be able to make an action, and use file>automate>batch to run the action on a folder.. unless the version of PS you have is old (though that would still surprise me).

Many RAW file viewers, and most RAW file converters allow you to specify image size, resolution, file format (jpg, tiff) and color space in batch mode. Your camera probably came with a file viewer that can do this. If you are not shooting raw, you might want to take a look at it, since this is just one of the many benefits.

If you can't quite figure out how to get it done in PS, then give the free IrfanView app. a try.
Slick and easy...it's what I use for this function all the time.

As early as Photoshop 5 you can automate batch (e.g. resizing) processing, as well as to introduce a stop point where you can input data and then allow the process to continue. I use it for example in making thumbnails, and use, say all vertical images in a folder, then horiz images in another, so I can use the same output dimensions for each type.

Just be careful of which folder/file you are saving to...!

I want to thank everyone for their input. I had prepared screen captures to help explain what I was, or wasn't, coming up with in batch. I guess the versions I have just don't allow for this function...or Adobe and I couldn't quite get the right screens going.
Gene, good point on shooting RAW, I did for awhile but got away from it again...maybe it's time:)
John, I downloaded Irfan...quick easy, painless...batch sized the whole folder 378 images in about a minute and a half. I brought up the images compared to the origionals under close scrutiny thinking this is 'too' easy, maybe something was lost...nope...and I didn't have to drop $999.00 to do it, woohoo.
Thanks again, my learnin' never stops out here! Thanks again Keith, Floris, Gene, John and Frank ^5.
