Muti-coloured Starling
This is a local bird, taken at the end of August

Canon 300mm f2.8 lens, f4, 1/1500sec, ISO 400

Hi Ron.
Starlings in the right light are extremely colourful, but this one is a bit too much that way I,m affraid. It just needs the saturation taking down. Its quite sharp and a pity about the feet but it can be improved.
I wonder if your monitor is set OK. Does this shot not look over colourful to you ?
Cheers
John

Sorry but something is definitely way out on your colours

A portrait composition would have suited this image better I feel Ron,colours look over-saturated,easily done, with it being very sunny you could have used iso 200 gone for F5.6 and brought out more detail in the birds feathers, which then in turn requires less sharpening, only a thought Ron. I do love Starlings though and the colours on them are beautiful, hope that has helped you  :wavey:

Yes, colours a bit wonky on my screen too Ron. Maybe your monitor needs calibrated?

Agree that the original is a touch over saturated but shows that the plumage of these is not as dull as you think, also critical focus does not appear to be on the eye (difficult to tell on web sized images...)

think the colours are better on the repost, thought the original looks sharper, good image either way though

Hi Ron,

They do have wonderful colors but saturation was a tad too high so i tried to adjust everything a little bit for you in this version. Hope you don't mind and it helps.

Greetings,
