1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 25mm extension tube, 1/125s, f6.3, iso 400. Fill flash.
I hadn't seen these until a few days ago and they are fun to watch. They are fearless, but don't stay in one position for more than a couple of seconds. This is one of a few shots that was sharp.

What to say indeed ?
Lovely shot Ian
If its a crop, a few degrees rotation right might "balance" a little,
Great stuff though.
Cheers

A favourite species of mine in warm wintery colours (if that makes sense) - nice Ian, and you're right about them not sitting still for long!!
Very 'nice' Ian, good capture of a very quick bird. Good detail where it counts with a cracking BG.

You've done a great job on this Ian - nice perch, lovely composition and perfect background

Top draw image Ian, my only nit would be to have the tit a little higher in the frame.
Your Mountain Hare shot over on Fauna was a cracker too.

hi Ian
the larger version really does the image justice - top drawer
Good use of the fill here, and very nice image the detail in the larger version is wonderful, my only nit is that I am not sure on the bit of orphan perch .....

Hey Ian
You seem to consistently produce pro standard imagery and this again is no exception. Stong portrait, great background color and well controlled use of flash.
Cheers
