I just wanted to share a few photos from my trip to the Owens Valley from Sat through Mon. We left Long Beach Saturday about 9:30 a.m. in the rain. For the So Cal guys when we drove through the 14 Fwy and started climbing into the high desert I noticed and commented to my daughter that I had never seen the cottonwoods so yellow. The color along any of the watershed that has cottonwoods must be fantastic right now. Anyway we awoke sat morning to Snow covering our SUV in Aberdeen. The Mountains were completely covered in clouds. We still left for the Alabama hills and Lone Pine. After breakfast we went out to shoot. Only Lone Pine Peak was kind enough to be out for some photos. I'll let the Alpenglow photos from this morning speak for themselves. The D300 was set -1 stop exposure and -1Stop ISO. The only processing done ( on the Mt. Whitney Alpenglows) was some light sharpening and a Contrast bump. There must have still been allot of moisture in the air the Alpenglow was very intense.

Fantastic series Paul, I'm loving each and everyone of them but I like Williamson the most.

I drove through there late Sunday morning and I think I may have driven right by you. I have a shot that looks a lot like your 1st Sunday shot. Good stuff, Paul.
