Since everyone seems to be going star crazy this past week I figured I would post something from Flatside last night. Flatside is not as dark I had hoped, still quite a bit of city light. The stars directly above Mike and I looked nice, but the ones along the horizon weren't as good. Little Rock did have a long low cloud hanging over it that lit up from the city glow that looked pretty cool. ISO 1600 is about all my K20D can handle. My ISO 3200 shots were pretty noisy. This sort of stuff makes me really envious of you D3 and D700 guys.
Hey Mike how long of an exposure did you manage before the battery died?

The battery must have died about ten minutes into my exposure. Bummer! I like the way both of yours turned out. I didn't realize that we had waited 39 minutes. I sure wished my battery had lasted. There's always next time! Too bad the meteor shower didn't cooperate too. You had a bunch of planes pretending to be meteors in the long exposure. We will have to try again sometime.
