I somehow missed Mark's far too humble "Yosemite in October" post last month. What that title fails to mention is that in October he wasn't photographing in Yosemite, he was becoming the oldest person to climb the Nose route on El Capitan in a day (15.5 hours actually!) Not only that, he lead every pitch himself. That's absolutely crazy! I just came across his story on the SuperTopo forum where it is one of the favorite blogs of the year. If you missed checking out his amazing story the first time around like I did, here it is again. Nice job Mark! Respect!

I dont know crap about climbing, but that is pretty cool MR Hudon! I also see that MR Bagshaw is very much the outdoor sports enthusiast also, what better way to enjoy life, then in the great outdoors. I think i called you crazy once Mark, now i know for sure you are! Way to go!

Oh, hey, thanks!
If ya'll want to get together for a slide show of the whole month and climbs I have one ready to go anytime you want to see it.
Next, is that I'm planning to free climb all of El Cap via the Freerider route. If I do it, I'll be the oldest guy to free climb El Cap. I first tried to do it in 1979, before a lot of the kids who are doing it nowadays were born.
After that I want to do the Nose in a day again but faster this time. Then there are two multiday routes I want to do and then, maybe, I'll solo an El Cap route (I'll be the oldest guy to solo an El Cap route) Needless to say, there aren't many guys climbing El Cap as old as me.
I ain't getting any younger so I have to grab as much of these life events as I can. Deep down in my heart, I'm a rock climber.
Thanks again.

I'd love to see your slide show Mark. Not sure when I'll be up your way next. Perhaps you could do it at David Cobb's in Mosier sometime?

Anytime you all want to get together I'll show it. It's all on DVD of course so it's ready to go.

Way to show the snot-nosed how it's done Mark! The more I feel my joints these days, the more impressive feats like that become. If you do a slide show, let me know. I'd love to come if able.

Who has a place in Portland/Vancouver big enough for 15 or so people? It makes more sense for me to travel out there than for all of you to come out to Hood River.
