Was so delighted today when a flock of these landed in my garden

In case anybody thinks I was lying completely flat in the garden, 'fraid not - it's a bird table with a bit of artificial turf on the bottom - doesn't get as slimy as ordinary tables!!
C & C welcome

Nice one Kim
Pity the feet are gone but thats the trouble with astro turf. ! It does hide the seed though.
Not through the window I hope
Cheers
John

Hi John, yes it was through the window - just like you do with yours

I bet you were pleased with this and so would I. Don't see to many on the ground either.

lovely shot, never get these in my garden, your set up for this sounds interesting, wouldn't have thought birds would much like astroturf

Very nice shot. The astroturf has a very manicured look, but the detail on the bird is stunning. :toast:

Is the bright catchlight added in PS? It appears a little bright and round. (It does improve the shot, so please don't feel it is a criticism). If it is added, I would try to tone it down a touch. :wavey:

Hi and thanks for the comments - no I have not added anything to the bird - don't think I would be able to! The astro turf is only on a bird table and it does seem easy to keep clean rather than wood - which went very messy quickly and the birds do seem to like it! I do have a normal lawn!!

Excellent shot! Composition and pose are great. I also wondered about that catchlight and I think I might take it out - the other one above is more subtle and would be fine on its own.

Very nice capture indeed Kim. Never see these in my garden. Might give the astro turf a go on my bird table. Glad I'm not the only one who can't get down on the ground  :wavey:
