I want to print up a sheet of labels to stick on the back of some prints. My Epson R1800 wont let me do it, it keeps giving me this message...

"For sheets of paper, remove the roll paper or velvet paper and print again.
For roll paper, select Roll Paper as the Paper Source setting in the printer driver and print again.
For velvet paper, select Velvet Fine Art Paper as the Paper Source setting in the printer driver and print again."

What on earth is this saying ??
My old cheap printer used to just get on with it. Any ideas?
This is to print an A4 page of 14 labels via M/S word tools menu. I have tried an online 'chat' with Epson...!!

Colin: Did you try setting the paper size to A4 and the 'feed' to sheet in the page setup dialog of the Epson driver?

Hi Preston

Yes, this is exactly what it's set on right now but I still get the same message.

Colin,

Are you using MS Word 2007? If so, try saving the file as a Word 2003 document and then try printing it again. Word 2007 creates documents that are XML-based, so there may be an incompatibilty somewhere along the line.

Another thing to try is to go to MS Office support and ask your question on one of the forums there. Here's the link to the community site: Discussion Groups Home.

Also, while it may not apply to your printer and assuming that you are running Windows, does the printer dialog box settings in the software you are using match the printer dialog box settings in Windows? I'll get some annoying errors like this when they don't match.

I had this same issue with Word so I quit using it and now use Pages. But that won't help you now. How I got around it was converting to .pdf and printing from acrobat. For some reason Word won't let you choose what paper feed to use.

Well guys, after all these months I have stumbled on the answer  the page automatically saves it as a CD ! I went into; file>page set-up>paper source> and changed it to "sheet" all's now well. Hope it helps those who also had this problem.
