Nice stuff Richard :toast:

Have you ever set the shutter speed long enough where the water looked like fog and lacked all major detail? I've been wanting to try that on a scene like your #2 and #3 and haven't yet.

Cheers, Steve

I am totally fond of #3, which still has enough detail to support my belief system...

Hey Steve,

I have some images with much longer exposures where the ebbing and receding water look like fog, but I am not exactly fond of that type of water treatment. If you noticed, each of the images I posted have a shutter speed of 0.5 second or close to it. That combination of movement and water detail fits in with what I prefer. With the latitude I have in using higher ISOs with the 5D Mk2, I can lock down my DOF and shutter speed - while using different ISOs to achieve the proper exposure as the light changes. ISOs varied from 1000 to 100 with no loss of detail or noise at 1000.

Great set of images. I especially like the movement in the middle shot. Indeed, that would be lost with a longer exposure. Well done.

These are beautiful. I'd love to fly down to the West Palm Beach area in a few weeks and shoot some. How does one stay past the 4:30 closing at some of these parks? Also, which filters did you use if any?

I'd love to see some of the "foggy" water shots using a longer exposure.

Great stuff!
