If I were to be nit picking I'd say the head isn't sharp Karen and the perch is a bit "heavy" for such a small subject.

Hi Karen :wavey:

Nice pose and a lovely background :toast:

I have to agree with Andy that the head looks a little soft

Hello Karen.

I agree with Andy that the head looks a little soft but its a nice wintery image of a Blue Tit and the perch is fine for me.

Yep, agree Andy. Perhaps a bit off the bottom too.

Never tire of these! I think it might sharpen up a little and I would crop from the bottom to leave a sliver of snow and moss.

Have to agree also with Andy and a bit off the bottom so that the perch is not quite so dominant. The lower half of the beak is usually lighter in Blue Tit but because of the angle viewed it just about gives the impression that this one has a totally white bill.

Hi Karen
Nice image good pose, good base for the bird to sit on, I'm not worried about about the rest

Well done

Thanks for the comments guys think I need to sharpen them a bit more I usually size them to 800 longest side for most forums and for this forum I am having to resize them again so need to sharpen them more than I am doing.Perch is fine for me though.

Hi,

The perch is OK for me because it is covered in moss, had it just been a large branch then I would have agreed with Andy, its a personal preference in that I like to see delicate birds on delicate perches... The head does indeed look a little softer than parts of the body, which may be down to resizing, BTW I would prepare a new image for posting at a different size from the original rather than resize an already resized version (does that make sense?).

Wish our snow had gone quickly.

Hi Phil

that does make sense to post a fresh image instead of resizing it,it does seem to affecting my images all other forums allow 800 so its down to me really if I want to be doing two images so we will see

Yep, the perch does dominate a bit, but the snow and moss are giving it a lot of texture.
Why not post a different image here to the other forums?

Lovely wintry scene indeed, head perhaps not 100% sharp.
