Who is willing to tell us their goals for next year?
Mine:
- Dial in my processing workflow for both scanned film and digital images.
- Dial in a workflow to create B/W prints.
- Visit Yellowstone for the 1st time in almost 20 years (Who's joining me?)
- Go overnight camping with SB.
- Get my current website disaster areas cleaned up.
- Get out and shoot with alot more with all of you.!!
That's more than enough for a years worth of work.
Who else is brave enough to 'ink' their thoughts?

My goal is to gain 300 lbs, so i can become a professional wrestler. Ive already got a 1% jump on my goal thanks to several brews and a few steak-ums.

My goal is to finally take some pictures. Which I really haven't done since the summer of 2008.
Posted by Bill Bean on December 21, 2009 at 2:19 PM
Wow Rich. Looks like you've been reading my mind. With the exception of "overnight camping with SB" my goals are almost identical to yours. I would just add 1:
-Decide if I'm going to try and learn how to clean up my website or just trash it and build a new one.
As far as Yellowstone, my daughter that's in college has asked to plan a trip there so I'll be there sometime. My favorite time is the week before Memorial Day or anytime after Labor Day but I'll have to look at her schedule before planning. I'll let you know.
#1 for me is to make more prints, and get color management issues figured out. Getting my web site into shape is a close second.
Shooting-wise, I have several areas where I'd really like to bulk out my portfolio: Pecos Wilderness, greater Gila region, Central Idaho, and the Great Basin (not necessarily just the park). I'm optimistic about making the first three happen; Great Basin's a tougher nut to crack, but it may work out.

1. Move to Scotland and make beautiful images of the country and its wildlife.
2. Have a better year than this one
3. Teach my 2 year old grandsons how to shoot with a DSLR.(may have to reduce this to a point and shoot)
4. Learn a bit more about CS4, like how to do autoblend.
5. Buy Nikon's new 300mm f4, VR lens which they haven't invented yet.
6. Win a major.
7. Figure out where to get good prints and plaq mounts made in the UK
I'll go to Yellowstone with you. That will take care of one of my goals: spend more time with Rich
My desktop just crashed on Friday so upgrading is high on my priority list which also includes getting color management and the workflow the right way from the start of the new desktop. Thank gods I just got finished backing up all of my files onto the brand spanking new external hard drive which was installed 3 weeks ago, all of my work is still safe.
Also, more shooting and backpacking trips with everyone here! I've been a bit of a loner lately which I guess is due to my random schedule and spontaneous get-away-from-it-all trips.
And the biggie for me: staying healthy, I've had bad luck this past year with injuries so I'm going to be a lot more careful this year.

Funny, one of my goals was to make it to Yellowstone next year as I have never been there.

Richard, William, Aleksandra, and Brian, let me know when you're coming to Yellowstone. I live 90 miles north in Bozeman, MT. Jesse Speer, Jeremy Kessler and Doug Roane all live north of the park, maybe we can all get together. There are a few other NPNer's but I've lost track.
My number one goal is to get healthy (bad feet)
so I can hike to photo locations. #2, get a good photo editing computer set up. #3, hike, photograph, and fish the Beartooths and the Mission Mountains of Montana.

1) Above all, enjoy traveling to and seeing lots of new places. Getting a few good photos along the way is the secondary goal.
2) Try a crazy new shot I have in my mind that will take around twenty nights to shoot.
3) Redouble my efforts to destroy Erik Stensland in our race to 1,000 Facebook fans.
4) Come up with even more excuses not to go on a photo trip with CAZ.

Great thread! My list:
1. Continue trying to take good pictures of beautiful places in those few free moments at the beginning and end of the day when vacationing with my family in Yellowstone, the Tetons, and wherever else we go
2. Expand and better market my photography "business"
3. Organize the chaotic collection of photos on my hard drive
4. Finally make it to the Wind Rivers
5. Save up for a trip to New Zealand
6. Force Sony/Zeiss to produce a 21mm tilt/shift lens, purchase said lens

Wow, my 2010 goals are as big as everyone else.
- Print BIG!
- Lose 15 more lbs. (down 30lbs so far)
- Shoot more landscapes.
- Master my strobes
- Go backpacking multiple times
- Do a spring break road trip somewhere...
- Alaska at the end of June
- Yellowstone / Tetons sometime
- Somewhere with colors in the fall

- Rehab my knee after surgery
- Join Todd in the Lose Weight Club
- Hike with Erik
- Take the next steps to mastering composition
- Meet more of the awesome folks who habit this place :-)
Like most it seems I need to lose weight. How? Iono.
I have two big ones I really want to get done though.
1) I need to get out more often. I can't get any decent pictures sitting in my la-z-boy. A nebulous goal I know (how does one define "more often"? Is that just once more than 2009? 5 times more?).
2) Make photobooks of my travels around the world with my wife. That includes at least two pre-digital trips and about 5 since.
If I accomplish those, I think I'll consider it a good year.

- Spend more time behind the camera; less in front of the computer
- See #1.
- Even though 95% of my post-processing is done in LR I want to become more proficient with
PS for my more "artistic" endeavors.
- See #1.
- Like Don G, build a computer for photo processing only.
