This image was taken on the road above the tunnel to place El Cap and Halfdome closer together. The Fall and Winter of 2008,2009 was shaping up as another almost snowless winter. This was the first weekend in December. There's snow in the valley now and I think we may be in for a wetter winter. Despite the lack of snow there was a good quality to the light from the setting sun. Happy Holidays a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year of shooting.

Ok,
I'll give a choice Glow or Afterglow. Same day about 20 minutes later.
I really like the sky in the second one, but prefer the composition in the first one. The second one seems a bit cut off on the bottom. I really like the color The Captain in the first one.

I love the second one for not only the color in the sky, but for its greater visual interest in the shadows, as well.

Great shots, Paul. I really like the sky in the second one.

Merry Christmas to you too Paul.
1st one is nice but we need the glow to drop down a bit lower for the amount of shadow you have there. 2nd is nice too and it's quite a sunset!

A 4x5 ratio with a crop off the top for the second one, gets my vote. The tension between El Cap and Half-Dome never gets old. Nice work!
