I made this in early May of 2008, so it's an older transparency from the archive. I thought I'd post it and hopefully hear your thoughts.

Wow, great clarity throughout. Makes me feel like I can reach into the image and feel the textures of the lichens on the rock surfaces.

You captured an image with good formations under excellent light.
The Alabama Hills is one of my favorite places to photograph.

Preston, I like the image but the sky isn't doing anything for me, seems to draw my eye away from the fine detail in the fg and mg; wonderful light on the rocks, spot on exposure.
Interesting image, Preston! I like the color contrasts and the way the 'corridor' leads me into the frame. The flowering buckwheat is a nice touch. The scan and color seem a little 'gritty' and 'off' to me, but I'm viewing from an uncalibrated and cheezy LCD.
BTW, do you know about this? http://www.bjp-online.com/public/showPage.html?page=872222
Yes, I did see the article about Fuji QL's. Paul has been trying to get some info from Fuji about this. It will be a loss, if it occurs, and then my QL holder will become an expensive door stop.

Nice Preston. A typical Alabama Hills view...The clarity throughout the image is great...

Preston, pretty amazing depth and texture. You can feel out every nook and crany here.
The grittiness enhances the feel of the rough granite that sands your hands when climb around the place.

I like the image, Preston. I might go along with cropping the sky and concentrating on the closer detail, but it work well as presented.
The presentation looks a bit over-sharpened to my undiscerning eye.
Preston, loving the lichen on the rocks. The stuff always is perfect addition to the bare granite, almost like natures own very fine & classy tattooing.
I think it might be a tad too sharp, or compression maybe?

Nice mix of elements. This captures the essence of the area very nicely. I can't think of anything I would change here. Good stuff!
