Brocken spectre
I took this in February 2004 using my old Olympus C-740 UltraZoom 3MP camera. We were doing the 'Ring Of Steall' in the Mamores and had just climbed up through the layer of cloud and in to the brilliant sunshine. When I turned round I was greeted with this view of only my second Brocken spectre. Ben Nevis is in the background. I straightened out the horizontal line of cloud in Picassa and used Levels in Photoshop to bring up the colour of the Brocken spectre to what it was on the day. Unfortunately the rest of the day was spent in the cloud! :toast:

Sorry about the small size of the image. I made a mistake somewhere trying to follow the guidelines for uploading!

I've never had the pleasure in seeing one before Andy - and now I'm fat, unfit and 50+ I doubt I ever will

Certainly a remarkable phenomenon to get an image of and I'll bet printed up it looks awesome.

Make your jpegs 720 pixels on the longest side at 72dpi resolution and you'll be fine :wavey:

I am in the same boat now Andy, fat, unfit and over 50 and that was my last serious mountaineering trip but I haven't given up hope of getting up high on the mountain tops again.
Christmas greetings to everyone visiting this forum.
