Flatside Pinnacle view
I'm finally getting around to posting a shot taken at sunrise on November 5 atop Flatside Pinnacle in the eastern Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. That's Forked Mountain in the distance.

5DII, 200mm, f/8, ISO 100, 1/6 second

Interesting...

My take: The reddish treeline grabs one's eyes, then to Flatside Pinnacle, then to the fog, then to the dark forrest, then to the pinkish sky.

Subtle and refreshing. Make a print!!!

I have a shot almost identical to this one from October 31st. You have more fog in yours though. This place certainly has a lot of sunrise potential.

You captured some sublime light John. A beautiful scene and a lovely moment. Kudos on a fine image!

Really, really nice, John. The light doesn't get much better than this. I'll bet it was quite an experience to watch the new day begin from there...

Lovely shot, John. There seems to be a small area to the right of the mountain where the hills don't line up correctly.

Another beautiful shot, John. You collected a big pay-off by looking away from the sunrise.

I see the discontinuity Issac mentions, but it's just one hill; so I was thinking that it maybe was fog covering part of the hill, or that it might be a cliff. Anyhow, it does draw the eye to it. If it's a problem with stitching, I don't see any indication of a seam anywhere else; so maybe the fog was moving around a bit there.

No stitching going on here. The conspicuous area is a line of trees adjacent to an area that has been logged.
