We currently use a Rototrim M24 Pro in our studio, but it has been scratching the surface of some prints done on 308 gsm and up papers. I made matters worse recently by switching to Hahnemuhle FB 350 gsm (terribly expensive but beautiful luxurious prints are worth it). We're looking for a new studio workhorse cutter, and the Keencut advanced rotary trimmer with a subsurface monorail bearing and no top hold down bar has caught our attention. Anyone use one of these or recommend some alternative?

Thanks!

Why don't you investigate the cause of the scratching? I often lift the clear plastic holddown near the edge to insert and remove paper to avoid contact and potential scratches. It can be removed for closer inspection. Don't give up on the Rototrim yet.

Kelly, I do the same as Jeff does with my Rotatrim. I gently lift up the plastic hold down without removing and gently slide the print underneath until I get it in the desired postion. I then lift it again to remove the print. It works fine for me. It does take a little longer however. Good luck.
