I've been fascinated by these plants for a long time. I've seen hundreds of them, and always try to compose a pleasing comp in my mind, but it takes too long as I'm just walking by one. And, there's always some crap on them or bad background or damaged leaves. I had some time to finally begin shooting some Agaves, and found some very nice specimens that were in good condition. However, I only had my Canon G10 with me, but I wasn't going to let that stop me. The light was right and with a tripod I was able to make some images in the style that I was envisioning. I was excited with those results enough to return to some Agaves with the 4x5 this morning, but here is one from the little digicam.

Well done, Jeffrey, very nice comp and wonderful gray tones, I especially like the light toned edges of the leaves and how that causes a distinct separation of each of the leaves

Excellent, Jeffrey! I've never seen an Agave image in B&W, but it
certainly works here. Your persistence paid off.

This image has such a nice, artistic presentation. The BW totally works for this composition. Really well done. Best Regards.
