My parental units asked me for help creating a blog where they could upload pics and text about their journeys. They are tech-savvy so it doesnt need to be a completely dummy proof solution. But easy is better. And they have easy access nationwide to broadband. What I am specifically wondering is if any of you have recommendations (free or fee) for creating a blog for their photo journeys where they can easily navigate, add new journal entries and add pictures. If it can be easily attached to my web URLs - Bonus! I haven't ventured into this stuff yet so I am a bit out of my element at this time.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Wordpress all the way. You can download it free at Wordpress.org and install it on any hosting account. Really easy to use and loads of free themes available. I can't recommend Wordpress highly enough.

I like WordPress, too. It's easy to use and you can easily change themes right in the software without having to manually add/move files. I think it has the most themes and plug-ins available compared to other blogging software.

Another vote for Wordpress. The new iFotoGuide website is being built entirely within WP.

And you can buy really cheap themes for WordPress, if you can't find a free one - including robust themes packed with photography/gallery features.

Wordpress is great. You can also use blogger... It's google's blogging and it uses picasa for online photo storage.

Yet another vote for Wordpress. Couldn't be easier to use, and lots of different templates to choose from. I was even able to pretty closely match the look of my blog to the look of my web site, which makes everything more consistent to the few viewers I have
