Christmas Eve
No fake Christmas trees in Mother Nature's house (Dry Lake, San Gorgonio Wilderness).

As always, any comments, suggestions or critiques are always welcomed.

Cheers!

At least you don't have to worry about falling through the ice. I didn't know the lake was so big. Looks like sunset up there to me? Trail from Jenks or Jenny Lakes? I hear there is a tarn below the other side of the summit. Nice glow coming up over the horizon Eric.

looks good Eric..possibly you could bring out a touch detail on those trees ?

@Steve, yeah this was the sunset of Christmas Eve. I took the South Fork trail from the parking lot near Jenks lake. I had to break trail from about the top of Poopout Hill, but the snow was deep enough to just go right up the canyons instead of following the trail in most areas. I made it to the top of Mineshaft Saddle, but would have had to go quite a bit further to see if that tarn was accessible. Let me know if you want to try sometime.

Not sure if I remember correctly but I didn't make it as far as the dry lake from that trail in winter but I think the best view of the summit was from poop out hill? Since you saw both what do you think? I made it up from Vivian Crk in late spring once. Looks way better in snow. I'm curious if you can even see the summit from the tarn. I like the side you caught here since you're so far north, probably would of guessed you wouldn't catch any light there around the solstice. I'll let you know.

Beautiful light and scene...agree with the need for detail in the trees if it can be brough our but may be a result of needing to reduce the image for posting.

Best regards -- Bishop
