Wondering if the SB900 will solve my flash problems.
Using my SB800 and 250th f8 with flash set to TTL FP works perfectly of course but sometimes I want 1000th sec at f8, this sutter speed is possible with the D3 but 1000th f8 underexposes the pic.
I have never found a way around this so I am wondering if the new SB900 will let me shoot at whatever shutter/aperture I want such as keeping at f8 and varying the shutter speed with all pics correctly exposed.
Anyone using it for birds in the undergrowth etc?

Don't know Colin but I always have fun figuring out how to use the SB800 and get a fast shutter speed as well!
Can you adjust the ISO to get the right exposure at 1/1000 and f8?

Went out today, autumn migration has begun here on the UK Lincolnshire coast. Two very cooperative firecrests but same old problem. I think the answer must be to use SB800 on manual flash and just reduce power for different distances.
Does anyone know if the SB900 will let me shoot at whatever shutter/aperture I want such as keeping at f8 and varying the shutter speed with all pics correctly exposed before I buy one ????
