I wear a photo vest rather than carry a bag or backpack. I've worn out a couple of vests, a Tenba and a Domke. Both are good vests and each has features I wish the other had. I carry lenses in my vest so I need one with large pockets and good fasteners.
I used to know of a vest maker who would add pockets to the user's specifications, but for the life of me I can't remember the company name.
Any recommendations for a good photo vest?

I had a Domke, but the cotton fabric developed mold in the Amazon. I've upgraded to a Big Pockets and really like it. I had a seamstress sew blue foam pads into the shoulders to ease the weight of the tripod a bit, but it's very, very good as shipped.
I like the vest idea also since I have a shoulder injury and I got an awesome Canon vest off ebay brand new and very inexpensive. The fabric breathes and has lots of pockets including a large one on my back,
For big loads, it's hard to beat Vested Interest. But for daily wear the Domke is the most comfortable I've tried. But I'm using it in concert with a camera bag across the room or in the car, rather than carrying all my gear ll day. That kind of use has Vested Interest written all over it.
Buck, I too have had a vested interest camera vest for several years and I swear by it. Custom made and terrific service. Still looks good as new!
