Red Squirrel High Key
Just returned from a fantastic week in scotland, lots of snow, low temps and great company!!
This is a shot I've tried to get in previous visits but never quite managed, not to everybodies tastes but different from the norm!
(Needed a black border!)

Nikon D3,500F4 AFS/2/Hide

Ah! It disappeared! Yes, the black border does help a lot. Very different and really focuses the attention where it should be. Aren't they addictive?

Great shot. Not a big fan of high key but this loos very nice. Indeed the black border works here.

Love high key, but I'm not with the rest when it comes to the border. To me it really negates the high key effect.
Love the shot otherwise.

Great shot ,and I have to say I agree with John - with out the border it could have so many publication uses and would ,look great printed on A4 even.
Cheers

Hi John's

Agree with you but when I posted it first it looked very lost on the page so reposted with a border!

I like it, Craig! The squirrel has a great expression, I also don't think it needs the border, however I can see why you added it for display here.

A very different RS image as you have said Craig, looks stunning IMO I like it without the border, gives the image much more impact  :wavey:

Nice image just a little to much white on the bottem of the framing for my liking.
Make a nice chritmas card

Very simple but very effective Craig, chest area looks just a little hot to me. :toast:

I think it looks great and I could see it in a photographic mag with text around it.

Hey Craig

This image works well and it is a brave shot. I'd love to know the thought process behind it i.e did you previsualise it and intentionally over expose it in the field or was it something that came to you as you were processing it? Doesn't reflect on the qulaity of the final image or my opinion of it, I'm just being nosey

Best wishes for 2010

Hi Andy

A bit of both really, whilst sitting in the hide I could see that there were ridges of snow in front of me and I had in mind then what I wanted it was just a case of getting the squirrel to sit there as they were taking the nuts up into the trees to eat.
The final image looked fine but I lifted the white a little in photoshop after.

Have a great New Year!!
