I took a trip down to a local beach, Little Beach at Berwick upon Tweed, there is usually a decent population of purple Sandpipers, I've been trying to get some flight shots of them.

This has all the makings of a good image, but focus appears to be on the water/foam behind the birds and not on any of the Sandpipers, they don't look sharp at all; and that brown seaweed stem (or rusty metal bar??) tugs my eye away from the main subject, a real shame as this could have been a quite a strong shot.

Great attempt and as mentioned above has all the ingredients, but composition has not really worked IMO with the eye wandering from one bird to another.

Messy, but show me a shoreline that's not.
Unfortunately only the wing of the lower bird is sharp and it's not enough to rescue what could have been a decent picture.
Light looks to be pleasing, could be worth another go in similar conditions
