I like the isolation of the trees - they always lend themselves to a nice image. I think some space on the right might work in the image's favour, I'm not a huge fan of square crops.
Well exposed for the snow.

I'm not a fan of the square format either, but I think it works well in this instance, probably because you have been able to place the horizon low in the frame, and because of the natural tension created by the one tree versus the two trees, a dynamic that is usually absent in the majority of square format images. The light direction is also working for you from the viewpoint you selected; nice work - but are you sure they are crows?

Hi Tim
I'm afraid for me, it needs more crows...or no crows...and then it's just trees which in this case, isn't quite strong enough. Sorry.

Agree with half of Mr Cairns' appraisal.
I've seen dozens, scores even, of these kind of shots in magazines and brochures. Maybe not strong enough to hang in a gallery but worth keeping as stock
Without the crows it's almost like Teletubbies with snow

I've never really understood why people don't like square formats. I like whatever format that is needed for the picture - this looks great to me. I agree that more crows would be good.

I like the minimilist feel to this, and the square format. Excellent.

All I can add is I like it Tim, I suppose it will work with or without the crows.

Simple but very effective and like the crop, well seen.
