Planning trip to Ireland...Photo location tips?

Hello everyone, and seasons greetings...

My wife and I are planning a trip to Ireland in the second half of September. Neither of us has ever been there, so everything we do and see will be new to us.
Since we live in the western part of the U.S., I mostly shoot mountains and desert scenery. I'm looking forward to shooting terrain that is almost the complete opposite to what I am used to.
That brings me to this post...
Does anyone have any pointers on where/when/what to shoot?
Are there any photographer-oriented guidebooks that I can purchase that will get me started?
Are there any places that are particular favorites for great shots?

If it helps, we plan on spending seven days there (not including a day on each end for travel), and plan to rent a car and travel to anyplace that looks interesting. I don't know how much of my camera gear I will bring, but if I can bring my entire backpack full of gear, along with a tripod, I will...

Thanks in advance for any and all help/suggetions!

Hi Bob,

Seasons greeting to you sir. I have emailed you with some details of some areas. Please make sure you pay attention to the tide timetable which you can pick up from the local harbours. The sea is a bit risky in parts...have a great time by the way and I look forward to seeing your pictures on the ESS & Man and Nature sections of NPN.

Thank, have a great new year.

Ian
