Nightmare Gulch
Red Rock Canyon State Park

Fellow CANPer Rudy Ruberti was nice enough to invite me to an afternoon in the Mojave this past Monday. There is so much fabulous geology here at RRC.

The BW version

Steve,

I like both the first for the colors and form, the second for the textures and tonality. Having the two right next to each other illustrates well the fact that color will never replace BW. Both are immutably different artistic expressions of the same image. Each stand alone as their own mediums. Nice to have a great place to explore so close to home.

Nice Image! I know that place well, having driven my Land Rover through the entire canyon length on two occasions. Very restricted access and closed to vehicles most of the year.

Nice work Steve. Personally, I'm more drawn to the B?W version but each draws you in regardless.

While the colors are very pleasing, I prefer the B&W version actually. It seems to tie it all together, with a nice balance of tones and shapes.
