Seven Trunk Cottonwood
I spend a fair amount of time in section of Shunga Park which is right across the street from my house. There are miles and miles of paved and unpaved hidden trails It's where I found the cedar waxwings I posted. One of the trails that's off the beaten path winds along side Shunga Creek and is a fairly heavy timber area. I seen this cottonwood a couple of winters ago and it always intrigues me every time I walk around it. I thought I would share a picture of it because I think it is truly a unique tree. The other side of it is getting hollowed out and is probably home to many critters through the years. I have seen some of these bigger trees fall the last few years and it always makes me think back to the way things where. This one may not have many years left standing in it's present form. I named it my Seven Trunk Cottonwood. I haven't actually measured it but it's got to be at least 6-7 feet in diameter at the base.

Really interesting tree Brad. I'm glad you shared this one, it's unusual to say the least. The snow and b/w presentation add nice touches. Are you off until after New Years?

Hi Wayne, yeah I'm off until after New Years. I'm going to be finishing up Christmas this weekend with my kids since the weather last weekend kept us from getting together.

You have a wonderful New Year!!!
