Golden Canyon Sunset
Still working on images from my fall migration from WA to SoCal. This year's route took me through WA, ID, UT, and NV. One of my last sidetrips was Death Valley where I made this shot along the Golden Canyon interpretive trail. Two-image blend in PS. Thought the foreground was still too dark, so I masked the FG rocks to open up the shadows a bit more. I'd appreciate any feedback.

these canyons are amazing Craig. I like how the sunset lit up the canyon walls in the background, something like a canyonglow to say...you did the right thing of pulling up the foreground exposure. the only problem I find sometimes shooting in the canyon are the people around. sometimes they are worth getting into the picture (as is this one), sometimes they aren't and you have to wait until they are out of the frame. unfortunately, the light doesn't wait for us

Love the canyon glow here Craig. Your post processing is very effective and what you have is a nice image.

Your extra work paid off, Craig. Great colors.

I like the comp, and particularly the way you used the lines in the wash to lead the eye off into those distant hikers. The blend looks pretty good to my eyes. I might prefer just a wee less contrast between the sunlit face and the ridgeline area in the shadow. All in all, very nice work.

Craig,
Your blending turned out very nice. I like the composition too. Best Regards.

The blend works well and the people in the distance add a nice sense of scale. Well done.
