(Not Quite) Frozen Raceway
If it looks a little soft, leaning to the right, and not quite right, it's because this is an Action Shot! Going for a different angle, I climbed down the embankment, set up my tripod, and tried to compose a shot when I felt the all to familiar sensation of shifting ice. Too Late; the rock that was holding one leg, mine, rolled into the thinning ice and everyone went for a swim. The funny part is, as I fell, I instinctively held my gear above my head/body. Cuts, bruises, no worse for wear, I PROMISE this is my last "Adventure" for 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!!!

Many thanks to all for making this such a great site!

Happy New Year, Bruce!

Sounds like you ended the year with a SPLASH, where mine ended with a bang last Sunday whilst falling in an icy parking lot. What a way to end the year! :wavey:

Thanks for giving me a good laugh this morning, Bruce! I hope you were able to get somewhere warm soon enough. My last 'splash' was in October of 08 while trying to cross a shallow, but fast moving stream. Same over the head drill with the camera and tripod - you've gotta have your priorities in those situations!

Happy New Year back at you, and thanks again for sharing the story. :wavey:
