Thanks, everyone! I passed this sign and it took about a mile for the irony to sink in. I did a u-turn and went back to make the photo. I'll be the first to admit - I'm a little slooooooow.

Funny stuff... Bret..... thank you for posting this... how bad is the winter there this year?
Posted by Bret Edge on January 2, 2010 at 3:57 PM
Rajeev: It has been much colder than usual. We hit -13 one night a couple weeks ago with negative temperatures for several nights in a row. Rarely do we ever even hit single digits in a normal winter. We've also had more snow. There is about 1' of snow on the ground in Canyonlands right now with several inches melting off in town. Definitely an odd winter but quite good for photography.

Hey Bret- Flowers in the desert could be awesome this spring. Primrose should be popping. My son drove back to Arizona after Christmas and said there was snow on the ground from Silverthorne to Flagstaff. Have a great new year.

That's awesome news, Bob. We're tentatively planning a trip to Phoenix starting around Feb. 19 to photograph wildflowers. Probably be a bit too early for peak but there should be a little somethin' on show.

That's a neat shot, Bret! Oh, to be nearby when that stuff starts to clear!

Great shot. Ranks right up there with the infamous Scenic Overlook which, coincidentally, overlooks (drum roll please.....) the town of Scenic, South Dakota on the northwest edge of the Badlands.

"Oh, to be nearby when that stuff starts to clear!"

I was there, Todd. I was there.

Bill: That is too funny!

Ha ha that's great! Hey don't worry. You aren't the only one that is "slow". I probably would have gotten even farther before I "got it". LOL. Glad you were able to make it through safely to post this. Thanks for sharing and happy new year.
